- Slam Stewart, born in Washington D.C., is a professional drummer, music educator, and mentor for various youth organizations in the Fredericksburg area since 1991, having traveled across the US and internationally throughout the 90’s, performing with renowned artists such as American Blues guitarist, Deborah Coleman. As an advocate of “rhythm with musicality”
- Slam is instrumental in developing “World Beat Rhythm” teaching programs for various youth organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fredericksburg, the Building a Better Life Foundation Youth Drumline Program, the Walker Grant School Head Start program, and Marenje Marimba Band – all designed to engage young people in interactive music/social activities to build
cognitive skills, unity, and self-confidence.
